CarterMatt Awards 2015 results: Did ‘Quantico,’ ‘Blindspot,’ or ‘Mr. Robot’ win Best New Show?
We’ve been very lucky over the past year to get some great new shows across all of television, and we’re grateful for that. Otherwise, having this Best New Show category for the CarterMatt Awards would be rather ho-hum, since we’d be jamming in a number of undeserving shows just to fill spots. We’re thrilled that all of the nominees this year were legitimately great, but only one could emerge as victor from our readers.

“Quantico” is officially your Best New Show.
While we don’t want to say that the Priyanka Chopra series was ever really in danger of losing its crown from the beginning of the voting period, this was at least a fairly competitive category throughout. It won with about 37% of the vote; “Blindspot” came in second with 27%, and then “Mr. Robot” was in third with 17%.
As for what attracted our readers to “Quantico,” we feel like the simple answer there is that it is a dramatic thrill ride with a magnetic lead, a strong supporting cast, and a variety of twists and turns that fans of network dramas tend to love. It quickly proved itself to be a perfect fit on ABC, which has hit many home runs with “Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” and other similar shows over the years. Hopefully this win here helps to tide some “Quantico” fans over, given that it is going to be a rather long time before the show returns with new episodes in March.
