‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: Rip Hunter takes center stage in new promo

If there is one aspect of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” that still remains a mystery to many, it is Rip Hunter. Arthur Darville may be tremendous, but he has yet to appear in a single episode of either “Arrow” or “The Flash.” He’s got a cool look about him and we’re interested to see how he works with time-travel, but other than looking to the source material it’s hard to know much about this man.

Luckily, at least the latest promo for the CW series below gives you a further sense of his own personal ambition and drive. He’s working with a group known as Time Masters in order to protect the good of the world, but unfortunately Vandal Savage is slowly destroying it. He has wrecked havoc for thousands of years, and at some point in the future it looks like he may conquer the world. Rip looks to be granted the permission to change history in this promo, feeling as though he can go back and time and do something to keep Vandal from committing such atrocities.

From here, we anticipate him forming his super-team of Ray Palmer, Sara Lance, and many others before embarking on a crazy, mind-bendy journey through time. We’re going to visit eras both past and future, and we’ll understand more of what makes these individuals tick. Given that this is much more of an ensemble series that either “Arrow” or “The Flash,” we’ll probably see some of these stories spread out over several weeks.
