“NCIS: Los Angeles” is taking an interesting strategy in the promo below for Monday night’s new episode: Hyping up the “year of the hero.” We’re not entirely sure what that means, and what they’re saying about all of the other years that the show has been on the air.
In the end, we’re almost thinking that this is just the latest marketing strategy for the show in an attempt to keep from showing anything that story-focused in the promo, which feels almost like every other promo we’ve seen for over half a decade. This series and “Criminal Minds” are probably in a close race for most uneventful promos of any show on the air.
We’re going to go ahead and share the synopsis for this episode (entitled “Core Values”) in case you haven’t seen it already, mostly because it at least adds a little bit of context:
“Kensi and Deeks go undercover at a decommissioned nuclear power plant as the team investigates the radiation poisoning of a Gunnery Sergeant moonlighting as a security guard there.”
We hope that there is some more Deeks / Kensi progression in here somewhere, as the two overcame what could have been a major roadblock on the last new episode: What Deeks did many years ago. Given that it was done out of protection, and Kensi figured he would tell her when he was ready, she’s going to let it slide for now. However, there could be trouble in the event that he is keeping many more secrets from his past.
