‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Sam, Dean, and professional wrestling

It may be fair to say that we now have a leading entry in our list of “2016 Supernatural episodes we’re most excited about.”

According to a new report from TVLine, the upcoming 15th episode of season 11 is going to feature Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) diving into a pro wrestling tour in order to investigate some strange happenings. With that, the show of course has to cast some of the wrestlers! Among the names the site mentioned are a regretful “legend” named Gunnar Lawless, an up-and-comer named Shawn Harley, and a manager named Rio who seems to be deeply affected by seeing terrible things happen to many of his performers.

One thing we’ll add here: It’s too bad that Stephen Amell is so busy with “Arrow.” Given his performance recently in the tag-team battle against Stardust, wouldn’t he be more than capable of taking on one of these roles?

We know that not everyone loves the one-shot “Supernatural” episode in 2016, but we at the same time feel like there is a whole lot of fun to be had with them so long as the producers have a great idea. They are the bread and butter of the show, and typically they contain a small serialized element that will push a main plot forward. This one just feels like it’ll be hilarious, and put Sam and Dean in a position that they are hardly accustomed to.

“Supernatural” returns with new episodes on Wednesday, January 20, and we imagine that it won’t take too long before the show takes on Sam’s imprisonment and the latest between Dean and Amara. For now, head over here to get some further updates!
