‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7: Is it ending?
Do we finally have some further news right now regarding the potential end of “Pretty Little Liars“? Based on some of the latest commentary from the show creator, we are prepared to answer that question with a “yes.”
Speaking to Variety, Marlene King made it clear during a conversation that there are no plans at present to continue with the show beyond season 7. This has been a similar sentiment echoed with the cast, and even when the show was originally renewed to the end of season 7 there was speculation that it would be the end. The only reason that there has been a little bit of talk about the show continuing is because of people giving non-answers on the show’s future on the network side of things.
The truth of the matter is, the show is still a huge success story for ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) and also all around the world, where it plays in many countries. It also generates a ton of traffic on social media, and is something that the network can rely on.
With this said, ratings for the show have declined in recent years, and we also wonder whether or not there is a desire for most of the cast to do some other things after committing over half a decade in their young lives to a single show. We do feel like, at least to a certain extent, getting to jump ahead five years for the second half of the season has to be invigorating. We can only imagine what it would be like for the young actors to still play high schoolers.

Update: King clarified with a post on Twitter, making it clear that season 7 may not be the end, after all. She was only talking about the “Uber A” story.
