‘Doctor Who’ season 9 Christmas Special video: Peter Capaldi, Alex Kingston tease fun episode

Doctor -

With the “Doctor Who” Christmas Special mere days away, most of the people involved want to spread some holiday cheer! Not only that, but they want to make the message as clear as possible that this is going to be an episode very different from the first special featuring Peter Capaldi in full.

The video below features both Capaldi and Alex Kingston talking about the romp-like nature of this special, and some of the funny antics that we get to see the cast getting into. It appears as though there is a lot of humor in various moments, and the video even includes a really great quip from The Doctor when his wife tries to hold his hand. That’s just not something people do anymore! The Doctor’s lack of social skills is still something worth marveling at.

Of course, what we wonder more than anything else is if we could have a situation where River ends up being the new Companion and sticks around for some time. We understand that is unlikely, but we certainly would not be opposed to it given that she accentuates Twelve’s grumpiness a little bit and brings a little more humor following a very serious season. It’s much to early in the end to speculate much on that.

For now, we are merely grateful that there is another episode of the show to talk about this year! We plan on having some further scoop all about it over the days ahead, so be sure to be on the lookout for some of that.
