‘Arrow’ season 4 star Stephen Amell achieve Slammy dream with WWE award
It’s not often that we write about the WWE here at CarterMatt, but how can we not when it involves none other than Stephen Amell?
Earlier this year, the “Arrow” star made headlines for his confrontation with Stardust at a WWE RAW event, which turned into a full-fledged tag-team match at SummerSlam. While we’re not the biggest wrestling viewer on the planet these days, it was still rather cool to see Amell act out what clearly seemed to be a dream of his.
Now, he has apparently achieved another dream: Winning a Slammy Award for his efforts. After a rigorous campaign he was declared the winner of Celebrity Moment of the Year, which is another feather in his cap / arrow in his quiver. Who knows? Maybe he’ll get a chance to do something more in the realm of wrestling in the future, even if he is a rather busy guy. “Arrow” may be now on holiday hiatus, but the show will resume filming season 4 early next year. There are many months of work still to be done there, and we imagine after that he’ll have to go into promotional mode for the next “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” feature film, as he filmed his role of Casey Jones this past summer.
“Arrow” will return to TV on Wednesday, January 20, and we figure not too long after that we’ll learn what happened to Felicity Smoak. Hopefully Oliver will in the end take out Damien Darhk much in the way he and Neville took out Stardust and King Barrett.
