Is ‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 9 new tonight? AMC plots new marathon

twdIf you really love “The Walking Dead,” AMC has come up with a new way to make your New Year’s holiday all about zombies.

While there is no new episode airing on the network Sunday night, you are going to get a chance to see pretty much the entirety of the series from season 2 onward starting on December 29 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. For whatever reason season 1 is not on the schedule, new episodes will air almost non-stop (which an exception made for early-morning hours) from this date until January 2, when the network will wrap up airing the first half of season 6. Marathons of “The Walking Dead” are old hat for them at this point, and it is easy to assume that they must draw decent ratings in order for them to continually want to go back to this well.

Quick note: If you keep watching after the end of “The Walking Dead,” AMC is also going to be running the first six episodes of “Fear the Walking Dead” again, just in case you need to be caught up there.

The second half of the flagship show this season will premiere on February 14. That may be a while away, but just remember that Negan is coming, and as a result of that the series more than likely has a few tricks and surprises up their sleeve. Also, we anticipate much more in the way of promotional material in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more!
