‘Supergirl’ spoilers: Getting a little Bizarro

Supergirl -

While we cannot tell you a specific villain by name, it is looking more and more like “Supergirl” is going to be entering Bizarro territory before we reach the end of the first season.

Speaking in a new interview on the Fatman on Batman Podcast, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg made it clear that the show is planning some sort of entity to appear on the show. TVLine notes that Bizarro-Girl is probably the strongest possibility, and we agree. It wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense to introduce Bizarro Superman into this world since we’ve never seen a shot of the actual Superman’s face. There wouldn’t be much of a point to bring him on unless Superman suddenly became a huge physical presence on the show, which probably is not going to happen given the feature films are milking that for every penny they can.

In the true Bizarro vein, this villain has the opposite version of many of Supergirl’s powers, such as freeze vision versus heat vision and so on. There are some compelling stories that could be told with the character, but it ultimately will depend on the introduction. There are some iterations of Bizarro Superman outside of the comic books that we’ve personally always found to be a little silly and not even remotely right for our expectations of what the story should be.

“Supergirl” will return with new episodes on January 4, and for now, you should probably expect Non to be the villain that everyone is going to be talking about with Astra apprehending for at least the time being. Be sure to check out the link here for some further news soon!
