‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Could JoJo Fletcher be major contender on Ben Higgins’ season?

JoJo -There are some contestants on “The Bachelor” who are inevitably going to be more interesting than others, and out of the contenders for Ben Higgins’ heart that we have profiled so far, JoJo Fletcher currently strikes us as one of the ones who stands out. She’s found some success in life at a pretty young age, she comes from an area that has a long history of “Bachelor” alumni, and she even has some past connections to the franchise to boot!

Now that we’ve got that all out of the way, let’s get to discussing why JoJo could be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Age – 24

Occupation – Real estate developer. The good news is that this is a great, profitable career. The bad news is that so much of the job involves understanding the location, so she may not be as flexible on moving somewhere else if she gets a ring from Ben in the end.

Hometown – Dallas, Texas. Some other notable “Bachelor” alumni from the area include Sean Lowe, Jake Pavelka, and both Zac and Carly Waddell.

Things to know – Her stepbrother is Ben Patton, one of the people who starred on that extremely short-lived dating show “Ready for Love” executive-produced by Eva Longoria. Therefore, her family knows a thing or two about reality TV. What’s also interesting to learn is that she is half-Persian, and there have not been many cast members of this particular ethnicity on the franchise over the years. This could be a great opportunity to have different representation on the show, though you also don’t want to just label someone based on a certain element of their background.

Also, she really seems like she wants to be the in Squad with Taylor Swift based on her bio.

Strengths – She’s driven, hard-working, and seems to care a lot about her family and what she does. We imagine that she’ll be prepared for the show and some of the reality TV elements a little more than some other people. If she makes it far but doesn’t win, she may have some attributes to make an interesting Bachelorette.

Problem areas – While successful, her job does leave her a little more tied to Dallas, and we also don’t know whether or not she shares too many other things in common with Ben. These are two people who we could envision just not being compatible.

Prediction – We don’t necessarily think JoJo is one of those people who’ll be sent home right away if there is no chemistry. We think she’ll be at least interesting TV and stick around for a few weeks. We’re not sensing an immediate connection with Ben, though, so it’ll be surprising to see her make it extremely far.
