‘Saturday Night Live’ video: Watch some Tina Fey – Amy Poehler highlights before big show!

Odds are, you’ve heard the news already and are very aware of what lies ahead: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting the new “Saturday Night Live” episode this weekend, otherwise known as the Christmas Special. There was a time when most of the holiday sketches were reserved for this date, but over time we’ve seen the series shift ever so slightly into just making all of the December shows “holiday” in their own right.

Maybe some out there are excited for this show just for the holiday cheer; meanwhile, we imagine that some others are going to be into it mostly for the hosts. For those people, think of the video below as a worthy reminder of some of the two ladies’ best work on the show. “Weekend Update” was obviously a great showcase, but of course Fey’s Sarah Palin impression continues to get a lot of play thanks to how many headlines it received.

We would be stunned to see another Palin at this point given the lack of relevancy; instead, we more expect the return of something like Bronx Beat, a big “Weekend Update” piece, and then maybe some cameos from other past cast members. There are always some good laughs in these December episodes, but more than that we view them as a great venue for people to just celebrate the holidays and have a great time enjoying the show.
