‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Megalyn Echikunwoke to bring ‘Vixen’ character to life

Before “Arrow” and “The Flash” premiered earlier this fall on The CW, many of the characters made cameo appearances on the CW Seed animated superhero show “Vixen.” As it now turns out, that world is going to be entering the live-action realm for at least one upcoming episode of “Arrow” season 4.

As first reported by TVInsider, Megalyn Echikunwoke is going to reprise her role as the hero otherwise known as Mari McCabe during one upcoming episode. We’re not sure just how this will work given the technical limitations of someone who possess the unique ability to become one with the animal kingdom.

In a statement now to the website, executive producer Marc Guggenheim had the following message to pass along:

“We’re not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we’re immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe.”

We don’t how much her powers will be used (if at all), but this is a cool opportunity for “Vixen” fans to be more included into the live-action DC canon on the network. This comes after the show already made certainly that Constantine was adding to the mix by bringing in Matt Ryan for an episode earlier this fall. Now the main focus for some will be bringing on Supergirl, but the more we’ve thought about that the less sense it would make, given that her and Superman being out there would completely change the perception that the residents of Central City have on meta-humans on “The Flash.”
