‘Reign’ season 3 spoilers: Is Mary forced to marry again?
Wait, is Mary allowed even remotely a mourning period on “Reign“? Apparently the answer to that is “no,” given that the upcoming January 8 episode of the show (the first of the new year) revolves around whether or not our intrepid ruler can find herself married once more for the good of her people. It may not be something that she wants to do, but this is royalty and politics and sometimes, you do have to do things that are against every fabric of your being. It is unfortunate, but in this world it also happens to be reality.
“Our Undoing” is the title for the series’ first episode back, and you can look below to get some first details via The CW all about what you can expect:
“As Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Catherine (Megan Follows) deal with the aftermath of Prince Don Carlos’ (guest star Mark Ghanimé) accident, Mary realizes that she will have to marry for the good of her country and not follow her heart. When Catherine is accused of poisoning Francis (Toby Regbo), Lola (Anna Popplewell) is shocked when Mary thinks Narcisse (Craig Parker) framed Catherine in order to become Regent of France.”
Clearly, there is quite a bit going on, and this is something that we anticipate is going to continue as we move further and further into the new year. Unfortunately, there will only be a few episodes in early 2015 to push along the story, given that after the January 22 episode the series will be going on hiatus for a substantial amount of time.
