‘The Fall’ season 3, ‘Sherlock,’ more promoted in new BBC ‘Pure Drama’ teaser
Today is basically turning out to be one of the best days out there for any fan of great British television. After all, the fourth season of “Luther” (which is really just a two-part special) is airing on BBC One, and in just a couple of weeks we’re also going to have a chance to see the return of “Sherlock” with “The Abominable Bride.” Isn’t that a lot of great television to look forward to? We like to believe so.
Well, today the BBC took things a step further and released a new video hyping up both of these dramas alongside “The Fall,” which is really just starting production and is a long ways away from premiering. This teaser is not really meant to highlight new footage so much as just remind you that the BBC has some of the best drama with some of the best actors in the business.
What we do know is that both Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan are slated to return in the new season, and hopefully we’re going to get a chance to see Archie Panjabi and many other familiar faces, as well. While the first two seasons of the show were successful, we do still wonder whether or not the rise of Dornan to international movie star will have a tremendous impact on the ratings one way or another. The first season came out in the UK and Ireland before the start of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise.
As for Anderson, she’s also had her name in the spotlight this year thanks to the revival of “The X-Files.”
