‘UnREAL’ season 2 is officially more daring than ‘The Bachelor’ in one regard

UnREAL -For the most part, “UnREAL” on Lifetime has perfectly skewered “The Bachelor,” its production, and everything that is going on behind the scenes. For the sake of drama, sometimes they do also have a tendency to make things even more dramatic than they are on the ABC show. For example, just look at how someone died during the production of “Everlasting” with Adam Cromwell as the lead.

As TVLine notes, though, the series is doing something for the next show-within-the-show that “The Bachelor” has never done: Have a black leading man. The site reports that the series is looking for a 20-something to play their new lead Darius Hell, a Dallas Cowboys quarterback who is thought of as a very nice guy. He’s been a little protected from the outside world, but thought of as very “sweet.” We don’t know if he is religious, but this almost sounds a little bit like Cam Newton (who is mentioned in the description) meets Tim Tebow.

As for some of his contenders, here are some names that the site mentions as people who are being cast.

Tiffany – An smart, attractive, and passionate football fan from Texas. Her father even owns an NFL team! (We’re assuming it’s not the Cowboys.) However, she is “sexually closed-off” from men.

Ruby – An African-American woman who has an athletic build, and tries hard on the show to buck what the producers want her to be: The angry, African-American woman that they consider to be a stereotype on all shows.

Chantal – An African-American woman with southern charm, but also a desire to have things constantly go her way.

Bethann – Someone who is clearly brought on to “Everlasting” to cause drama, given that she shows up on the show wearing a Confederate flag bikini to show “southern pride.” She doesn’t view this as racist.
