‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Is marrying Ben Higgins in the design for Isabel ‘Izzy’ Goodkind?
It’s really hard from time to time to determine who is a worthy contender to go far on “The Bachelor” judging from just a profile on ABC.com and a little bit of research here and there, but for the time being we’re feeling reasonably confident about Isabel “Izzy” Goodkind. (We’re going to call her Izzy for the rest of the article, since that seems to be what she wants.) She comes across fairly well, is smart, and has a specific career aspiration already that does not necessarily include being on reality TV the rest of her life.
Below, we’ll try to lay out our case for her as a contender in the latest chapter of our show spotlight series.
Age – 24
Occupation – Graphic designer. She claims that she’d love to design wedding invitations and the like someday.
Hometown – Branford, Connecticut. It’s a town east of New Haven, and not too terribly far from New York City.
Things to know – She loves “The Notebook” (as does the majority of the cast), she’s done a lot of traveling with her family, and she’s very adventurous and someone who loves to be immersed in the world. She has also spent some time in Europe with an ex-boyfriend.
Strengths – She seems well-educated, confident, and someone ready to meet someone and have a deeper relationship. Out of the people on the show this season, she’s probably one of the most secure in who she is. It doesn’t seem like she plans on playing any games or having nerves in her interactions with Ben Higgins; she’s just going to be herself, which is smart.
Problem areas – Will she be considered a threat by the other ladies, or be able to get along with many of them? We’re not entirely sure. We also could see her as one of the people who could get a little bit stir-crazy from being stuck in a house for a long period of time with other women, many of who are never short on having any opinion.
Prediction – It would be stunning to see Izzy go home early this season, mostly because she seems to have so much in common with many past winners: Aspirations, a history traveling, and no obvious quirks that would make her not a perfect candidate to be chosen. We’re not saying she and Ben will be engaged in the end, but she is at least a good candidate.
