NBC’s ‘The Voice’ iTunes results: Jordan Smith, Emily Ann Roberts competing for title

VoiceFollowing last night’s episode of “The Voice,” we were prepared to say that there would at least be some competition for the top spot in between Jordan Smith and Emily Ann Roberts. While the former is more of the overwhelming favorite, Blake Shelton even proclaimed at the end of the show that she may be more than capable of pulling off the upset.

So after looking at all the results on iTunes today, is it still possible that such a thing could happen? We’re going to say, pending a huge shock, probably not. Jordan’s “Mary Did You Know” is sitting at #1 on the chart as of around 11:00 a.m. Eastern time Tuesday, and while Emily may be at #2 with “Burning House,” Jordan also has the #3 and #5 spots. Emily has #6, but Jordan still even has #10 with his “Somebody to Love” cover. Therefore, Jordan has four top-ten songs as opposed to her two; the only thing that may narrow the margin slightly is that Blake’s fans tend to vote more via phone / internet than on iTunes, but we’re still not sure it will matter much.

As for Barrett Baber and Jeffery Austin, neither have a song on the top five, and only one each in the top ten. When you look at the number of sales from the other competitors, we really don’t think that this competition in the end will be that close and they will be interchangeable at third and fourth.

Ultimately, here is our prediction for tonight: Jeffery is in fourth, Barrett third, Emily second, and Jordan is the winner.
