‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: Emilia Clarke hints filming almost complete

DanyFilming “Game of Thrones” is always a lengthy process, especially since as a cast member your schedule may be a little all over the place. You film sporadically throughout the summer and the fall, though sometimes not too much at any one time. This is what happens when you’ve got a show with a truly enormous cast; no one has to work on a nonstop basis, but filming is still spread out over the course of several months.

Yet, at this point it appears as though all is starting to wind down. In a post on Instagram (see below), Emilia Clarke shared a photo of Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, hinting as though filming for the season is almost complete for them.

For those wondering, this does not mean that we are going to suddenly start seeing Dany alongside Arya and Sansa on the show once again. Many interior scenes featuring a variety of locations are filmed on the sets in Northern Ireland, whereas the show travels more for some of their lavish outdoor sets. Spain is being used more than ever before for the sixth season, while Croatia (a place that was frequented for many years) will not have as great of an impact.

As filming winds down, we know that the premiere on HBO is still at least three and a half months away, if not longer. The way in which the schedule looks at the moment suggests that it could be closer to the end of April when the show returns, as opposed to the first couple of weeks, which has been the case more in years past.
