Ratings: ‘Grimm’ recovers; ‘Amazing Race,’ ‘Blue Bloods,’ ‘Hawaii Five-0’ low

Blue Bloods season 6The ratings for Friday night are such that sometimes, it can be a little bit difficult to find something that you can classify officially as a “win.” At the moment, we’re certainly in that situation in looking at most of the important numbers for Friday.

The winners – Hey, “Grimm” didn’t fall anymore. It’s a little hard to jump up and down in glee over a show getting a 0.9 in the 18-49 demographic, it’s still better than it was the week before. Given the major shake-up that we saw with the arrival of Eve at the end of the episode, we do of course wonder if this will be a way to bring at least a little more attention to the series, in this instance, we really do assume that this is a time-will-tell sort of situation.

The losers – It wasn’t a great night for CBS. While “The Amazing Race” set a season high in total viewers, it also tied its season low in the aforementioned demo with a 1.0. Since that is the measure that matters, the network has to be a little bummed that the Justin & Diana / Kelsey & Joey showdown didn’t end up being more eventful.

Meanwhile, “Blue Bloods” (1.1) and “Hawaii Five-0” (1.0) matched their lowest ratings of the season, showing more that holiday parties and festivities may be getting in the way somewhat of shows being watched live. We’ll have to see if the shows make up any ground in terms of DVR viewing. The same goes for “Dr. Ken” on ABC with its series-low 1.1 rating.
