Is ‘Reign’ season 3, episode 8 new tonight on The CW?

While this week has been a pretty glorious one in regards to there being big episodes of shows on The CW, the trend more or less is coming to an end now. There is no new episode of “Reign” coming up on Friday night. The show ended things for the year this past Friday, and it will not be until January 8 when new episodes start to air once more.

For all of those wondering why in the world the network would have opted to make this particular decision, Our feeling here is that mostly The CW doesn’t want to be airing shows too close to the Christmas holiday on a Friday, especially when there are holiday parties and a billion of other distractions out there. “Reign” is already a pretty low-rated series as it is, but they don’t want to do anything to upset the apple cart and make matters worse in any way. Doing so would be pretty disastrous, and also upset plenty of longtime fans who want to see the show continue. It’s already going to have a tough time.

There are only going to be three episodes of “Reign” that air in this timeslot in January. Following the January 22 installment, the show will go on hiatus while its spot is taken over by the one-two punch of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.” It is currently unclear whether or not it will return to Friday nights later in the season, during the summer, or some other time after that.
