‘Downton Abbey’ season 6: Michelle Dockery’s new series picked up by TNT
For all of those who love Michelle Dockery and are looking to side a very new side of her, great news: That will be coming on TNT in the near future. The network announced Thursday that the former “Downton Abbey” star’s new series “Good Behavior” has been picked up to series.
This show stars the actress as a former con artist in Letty who finds herself in the crosshairs of a brutal operation involving a hitman. We feel like this had to be something that she was seeking out in particular after being on the ITV historical drama for so many years; this is a high-stakes thriller, something with a very different tone and a very different character at the center of it. While TNT doesn’t get the ratings of ITV or even PBS (who broadcasts “Downton” in America), there is a good chance that this show will find some success.
In a statement confirming the pickup of both this series and also family criminal drama “Animal Kingdom,” the network’s executive vice-president of original programming Sarah Aubrey said the following:
“Good Behavior and Animal Kingdom are muscular, distinct dramas that will define the new direction of TNT … We believe audiences will love watching Michelle Dockery trade in her manners for the life of a sexy, complex ex-con in Good Behavior and Ellen Barkin and Scott Speedman command an unruly family of criminals and adrenaline junkies in Animal Kingdom.”
Hopefully, both of these shows will premiere at some point in 2016.
