‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 11 video: Is Ducky’s brother still alive?
If “NCIS” was waiting to drop a major surprise on the Ducky character, they’ve certainly found a great time to do it: The upcoming winter finale entitled “Spinning Wheel.” This story puts the character in the spotlight both in the present and in the past, where Adam Campbell will return in flashbacks that focus more on the man’s family life.
Who knew that Ducky had a brother? Gibbs certainly didn’t, but he supposedly died years beforehand. Ducky doesn’t strike us as the most open, social person in the world, so this is probably not something that he really considered sharing with the class (metaphorically speaking, anyway).
Apparently, there are two narrative pushes that will really drive this story forward and in a different way:
1. The realization that Ducky’s brother may actually still be alive, which causes some of these memories to come rushing back.
2. Ducky himself being a potential target of trouble. Luckily, he does have some good friends around him who may be able to offer up some sort of significant protection from whatever is thrown at him.
Also, this episode is going to feature Jamie Bamber’s return and some more story all about Bishop and Jake, but that’s not something that is featured in the promo. The network only has twenty seconds to work with, and there’s only so much that they can include here. Given that already so much has been said about Bishop in the first half of this season, Ducky may be the flashier story for now.

I don’t want to see Ziva back but I sure wish they’d give Tony an arc. Last season was all Gibbs and McGee and this season seems to be all Gibbs and Bishop. Wonder why they don’t give Tony any juicy stories anymore. He’s about as insignificant a character as Palmer now. It’s a shame and a loss to the show which has become predictable, soapish, and dull. Michael Weatherly is such a compelling actor but they usually just write him as either completely insignificant to the case or as the evening’s joke. They’ve checked Abby’s one and done off the list and now Ducky is getting his. I guess we’ll get the obligatory Tony humiliation episode when Senior blows into town but the actors who get dramatic focus and arcs now are McGee, Bishop, and the never ending focus on Gibbs awesomeness, angst, drama, and woe.

BRING BACK ZIVA! I need a reunion with Tony and not a visit but a return for good…
