‘Outlander’ season 2: Show boss teases Paris; no Brianna, Roger casting yet

Outlander -Thursday has been a pretty tremendous day for the most part for fans of “Outlander.” While it certainly remains disappointing that Sam Heughan was snubbed by the Golden Globes, the series did receive quite a bit of love elsewhere. Not only was the show nominated, but so was Caitriona Balfe as a lead and Tobias Menzies as supporting! We do think that Sam will get his in due time, given the quality of his work and the material that will be coming up for him in the upcoming second season. As readers of the Diana Gabaldon series know, there is quite a bit of story left to tell for Jamie Fraser.

Show executive producer Ronald D. Moore was quick to note in an interview with TVLine that there will be even more opportunities to Heughan to shine in the second season, and he also described the new landscape for the show in France with the following:

“It’s more lavish. It’s a completely different look. It goes to Paris. It has a completely different vibe. It feels like we start the show all over again… You get this great sense that we’re on a big, long, epic adventure this year.”

We know that one of the questions of really the past few months revolves around whether or not Brianna and Roger have been cast for the series, and for now, it appears that they are not at the point where an official announcement can be made. However, there could be some news on the subject in the near future.
