‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 9 preview: Ruth Connell on Rowena’s return
While we have seen plenty of stories on “Supernatural” over the years that have divided up many of the characters, the truth about the upcoming winter finale on Wednesday is that for the most part, it may serve as more of a unifier. Its purpose is to bring many people together in a battle against Amara and the Darkness, which is probably going to be so much more complicated than it first seems.
For one, you’re going to have Sam and Dean joining up with Rowena in order to determine if there is some sort of use for the Book of the Damned in this particular crisis. In previewing her big return to the show to Entertainment Weekly, Ruth Connell had the following message to pass along:
“There’s a mutually beneficial situation, but she’s lending her services … You’ll see Rowena reunited with the Book of the Damned, which is obviously incredibly powerful and important, but there’s a special reason that they’re giving her access to the book.”
Connell also said that you are also going to see and hear more about her personal attachment to Lucifer, which should be a great deal of fun. In general, we’re thrilled that we have an opportunity to see Mark Pellegrino on the show again as this character, given that it does not happen particularly often. He brings a great energy to everything that he does, and the hope that he may have answers to this problem is part of what makes this story so fascinating right now.
