‘Chicago Med’ episode 5 preview: Teaming up with ‘Chicago PD,’ ‘Chicago Fire’

“Chicago Med” is set to go off the air until Tuesday, January 5, but when the show does return to NBC, it will be doing so by bringing you something that this show was effectively created for: Crossovers!

Details around the upcoming event are pretty scarce, but we can say with confidence that this event is going to combine the worlds of this show, “Chicago PD,” and “Chicago Fire” into one neat little two-night package. Doing this so early in the run of “Chicago Med” is a nice way to ensure that the show gets a pickup for season 2, and a longer run on the network to go along with that. The ratings so far have been solid, but giving the show more crossovers is just another great way to ensure that this lasts for a while.

Also, you have to admit that it’s also a nice little feather for the other two shows to have in their cap, as well. All three of them could be stronger together, and with January being a weaker time as a whole for TV, they could help to carry the day for a little while.

Ultimately, our advice for now is to stick around for most of the holiday break. We’re sure that we will have a chance to share some further news all about what to expect not only for this show, but others at some point in the reasonably near future. Let’s just hope that all of the expectations that are out there at the moment are met!
