‘Scream Queens’ finale reaction: Lea Michele on Red Devil twist
Tonight, the season finale of “Scream Queens” aired on Fox, and it is fair to say that the show really tried to throw you off with the big twist at the end. Of course, the question here is whether or not it actually did.
We have to admit that, in one way or another, we thought that Hester was going to be the person behind it all in the end. After all, she had enough of a mysterious backstory, and it seemed almost too easy to be one of the typical Chanels at KKT. Yet, they are all now locked away in a mental institution (ironically forming their own sorority there), and for now, Hester seems to be somewhat free to go about her business.
So did Lea Michele know the whole time that this was the exact role she would be playing? Speaking to Us Weekly, she makes it clear that she did not realize until the end of the season that she actually was the person who was working alongside Boone, Gigi, and Pete at various times this season:
“It was so funny because, throughout the whole season, everyone was like, ‘Do you know?’ And I was like, ‘No!’ And we honestly didn’t, and it wasn’t until that final episode, and I was like, ‘Oh, my god.'”
To us, the thing that probably makes the least amount of sense here is the fact that the Dean seemed to be fully aware of what Hester was capable of the entire time, and really didn’t seem to have much of a problem with her being around at school.
We’re not sure that the ending made a whole lot of sense, but an ending is still an ending.
