‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 12 review: Walter faces Megan’s death, Toby and Happy kiss
Are Happy and Toby back together on “Scorpion”? It looks like they are on their way now that Happy has decided to let her shield down with him and shared a dance. It was a pretty grand gesture from Happy and we saw Toby melt in her arms, but are they actually back together or just on their way?
This week we see Happy open up to Toby saying that last Christmas she kissed him and things didn’t work out, so this Christmas he kisses her and we are back on track with the Toby/Happy relationship. We are hoping for some fun, awkward dates coming up in the new year – we can’t wait!
Walter has started talking to himself (as well as to his ferret) and it’s new weird behavior for him – also he is driving around with Megan’s ashes in a coffee can in the glove compartment of his car. Toby tells Paige and realizes she has some work to do with Walter since he is not dealing well (or at all) with his sister’s death. Paige encourages him to open up and share with her instead of keeping all of his feelings bottled in, but he won’t.
Later Walter learns that he’s won a $15 million dollar grant for the rocket, but when his Ferret goes missing all Walter can think about is his pet. He finds him and lashes out at everyone screaming that he didn’t want to lose her – and he’s talking about Megan. Finally he breaks down in Paige’s arms with everyone there to support him and he realizes that it’s time to truly say goodbye to his sister. After his breakdown, Walter brings his rocket to the beach with the team and puts Megan’s ashes in it to launch her into space, giving up the grant.
Highlight of the episode? Toby, Cabe and Happy singing Christmas carols after inhaling helium. So adorably cute and we love these moments where Happy isn’t angry or super serious. Also, watching Walter erase a message from Drew to Paige wishing her a Merry Christmas put a smile on our faces. Episode grade: B+
