‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy engaged!
Mrs. Carter: A pair of “Dancing with the Stars” champions now have something new to celebrate!
This weekend while during a performance of “SWAY: A Dance Trilogy,” Maksim Chmerkovskiy got down on one knee to propose to Peta Murgatroyd. She immediately said yet, and Maks celebrated the occasion in a post on his official Instagram page (see below).
These two originally dated from 2012 to 2013, and after some time apart, most reports are that they got back together at some point earlier this year. There’s obvious no timetable for a wedding just yet, but we will keep you posted.
Maks first appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2006, and for many years was one of the most’s most successful and notorious pro dancers. He eventually won the Mirrorball Trophy with Meryl Davis back in season 18, and has not appeared on the show since with a partner. He did, however, serve as a guest judge this past season.
Meanwhile, Murgatroyd joined the show in 2011 as a troupe member before getting to be a part of the permanent cast in season 13 alongside Metta World Peace. She has won the show with Donald Driver, and has done the show every season since until this fall. She was reportedly set to be paired with singer Andy Grammer, but had to withdraw due to injury. Allison Holker took her place, but she did get a chance to hit the ballroom near the end of the season.
Could the engagement lead to seeing more Maks on the show again? Time will tell, but for now congratulations are in order for the happy couple!
