‘Empire’ season 2 fall finale video: Cookie returns to her old prison

Wednesday night’s new episode of “Empire” (otherwise known as the show’s fall finale on Fox) is going to be a homecoming-of-sorts for the Cookie Lyon character. She will be returning to her former prison, spending time with some former inmates, and even planning a concert there.

We’re not going to say that the sneak peek video below is the most significant one plot-wise that we’ve ever posted here on the site, but there is a certain value in seeing further evidence that Cookie very much remembers not only where she comes from, but also some of the people that she spent some significant time with while behind bars. These are fascinating relationships that could come home to roost before the series is over in one way or another.

Even if you don’t care as much about some of the people that Cookie used to spend some time with, then you still have this to look forward to: Getting to see some more fun stuff courtesy of Porsha, who does not appreciate at first being referred to as “wifey” to Cookie by some of the inmates. Taraji P. Henson’s character insists that this is really a compliment, and something that she really should take as such.

Given that this episode is poised to be such an enormous one for the future of “Empire,” we have a feeling that we’re going to be discussing it so much more over the course of the next few days. With that in mind, the biggest piece of advice that we can give you is to stay tuned!
