‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 8 video: Boss on ‘bittersweet’ story of imaginary friends

Supernatural -

There is another new episode of “Supernatural” coming up on Wednesday night in “Just My Imagination,” and based on just about everything that we’re seeing for the story right now there is one word that we would use to describe it: Emotional.

The word that show boss Jeremy Carver uses in the video below is “bittersweet,” as he describes with details some of why we are getting to see on the show Sully, the former imaginary friend to Sam when he was a child. Flashbacks will help us greater understand the character then, and there is even an explanation in mythology as for why in the world this is happening: Protection. If Sam needs a boost of confidence, Sully shows up. The reason that he is lacking confidence right now may be due to his fear of approaching Lucifer’s cage, something that he thinks God may want him to do in the middle of the quest to stop the Darkness.

We love the premise of this episode, and after hearing more about how it may be connected still to the main story this season, we are even more excited to see it all play out. We feel like the best stories for this show are the ones that mix together the funny and heartfelt moments, and this has the potential to do just that. Not only that, but it also allows us to see a different side to Sam than what we usually see in his interactions with his brother.
