‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 6, episode 2 review: Kyle Richards, Nicky Hilton wedding confusion
Last week the premiere of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 6 started off with a whimper. There was no drama, very little in the way of updates on our ladies and nothing really happened. As far as premieres go, this was a let down, but with the new cast member coming in soon we have hopes that the show is going to find it’s footing quickly.
Kyle’s niece, Nicky Hilton, is getting married, so she’s heading out to Europe (France, Italy, London) and will be meeting up with Lisa V. and Ken in Italy before the wedding. Right before they leave on their trip, Kyle gets some very weird news – she’s told by someone in the family that it would be a better idea if she didn’t go to Nicky’s wedding. Kyle’s not clear about what the reasons are, but since Kyle inked a deal for a show about her life, her sister Kathy (Nicky’s mom) is anxious about it. This conflict might have something to do with it, but Kyle never reveals the reason, so we are all left wondering what is going on here.
They head to Italy and it’s of course decadent filled with villas and Porsche’s. Kyle later reveals that she’s now going to Nicky’s wedding again, and is still unwilling to say what the problem was. Some of Kyle’s family is going to the wedding and some aren’t – Kyle and 2 of her children are going, and 2 her two other children and Mauricio are not. Lisa is confused by all the back and forth with Kyle being invited to the wedding, uninvited, then invited again, as well as why Mauricio and half of her children are not invited, so she pushes for answers and it rubs Kyle the wrong way and she shuts down the conversation.
This was another long episode with very little happening. We really don’t know where the drama is this season, but they need to do something to shake this show up, because so far this season we are having a hard time becoming invested in what the housewives are doing (except for Yolanda’s story – we want to be part of her journey back to good health). They need to kick this show into another gear – bring in the new housewife already! Episode grade: C+
