‘Outlander’ season 2: See Jamie, Claire in France in first teaser video!

While the Droughtlander may be continuing for some time still, Starz did decide to unwrap an early gift this holiday season: The first teaser promo for the second season of “Outlander“!

The video below is a nice showcase for what is happening in Jamie and Claire’s world upon their arrival in France, and it is complicated. Political warfare is waging through the streets, and the two have to discover their place in it. Can they ensure or even change the future? There’s a fun line from Jamie at the end of teaser, which is another reason to be thankful that Claire studied history rather extensively before being sent back in time. Can you imagine if she had no clue what was going on?

Visually, of course the season appears to be a marvel yet again, and we anticipate the writing and directing to be as fantastic as always. This show has developed a fan following for being engrossing entertainment, and it seems like tonally and content-wise you are getting a nice evolution from what you had in season 1.

As for a specific premiere date, you could still be waiting for a while on that. The promo does remind you that the show will be returning in the spring, but we don’t get the sense that Starz will be keen to announce more than that at this point until the new year. Then again, they could surprise us; they announced the return date for season 1B much earlier than we anticipated that they would.
