‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 11 (fall finale) review: Was Theo Galavan finally stopped?

Theo -There are times on “Gotham” where you realize that the characters drift past the point of no return. We saw this earlier in the season with Jerome, and for a time we saw that with Barbara Kean.

The moment that Theo Galavan took Bruce Wayne hostage after getting released from prison was the moment it all fell apart for him. With Jim, the Penguin, and eventually the police all hunting after him, even killing Bruce would not have stopped the inevitable. Luckily, the kid was able to survive thanks in part to some stalling, manipulation on Silver St. Cloud, and then eventually having Jim and Bullock come to the rescue. They managed to find his location, and Galavan was left to die by Tabitha, who also took Silver with her off the side of a building.

Of course, the question that you should be asking now is if he is really dead. While Jim shot him and Oswald beat up to a pulp, the footage at Indian Hill suggests that Hugo Strange may be out to preserve their bodies in some way. Also, was there a Fish Mooney sighting there with the hair? We’re not sure we saw enough to know.

After it all quieted down, Jim asked Leslie Thompkins to marry him, and this came after she revealed that she was pregnant. There’s your confirmation on whether or not Morena Baccarin’s real-life pregnanct was being written into the show.

This episode was about as eventful as they come; while we’re not sure we appreciate the idea of nobody being actually dead on the show, there’s no denying that we were thoroughly entertaining throughout this story and then some. Grade: B+.
