‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Return date for Ben McKenzie, cast

Jim GordonTonight, “Gotham” is wrapping up its story for the fall portion of the season with “Worse Than a Crime.” It’s a chance to see whether or not Jim Gordon can find the answers that he seeks, and also stay alive when most of the GCPD and Theo Galavan are each after them in their own way.

Now, let’s hope that you are okay with waiting for some time, given that there is not another episode slated for several weeks. We are specifically looking now at Monday, February 29 for when the show is coming back on the air; in the interim, we’re going to have new episodes of “The X-Files” (!!) occupying its timeslot.

Is there a reason for “Gotham” fans to be pleased by this? While it may not appear to be obvious at first, we feel like the answer here is yes since it means that from February 29 onward, you are going to get new episodes of the series more or less every week until we get around to the finale. This is the sort of story that functions well without interruption; so far into the second season, we are simply pleased to say that it functions well as a whole. This has been one of the most improved series year-to-year, and with the knowledge that Mr. Freeze (or at least a pre-supervillain version of him) is coming in the new year, there’s a lot to look forward to!

Also, it will be interesting to see what producers do now that Morena Baccarin’s pregnancy has been officially written in, as opposed to what we saw “Homeland” do with her in the past.
