‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Are new hardships ahead for Oliver, Felicity?

Oliver

If there is some good news out there right now when it comes to “Arrow” season 4, it is this: There are two more episodes ahead this December before the show is done for the year! Unfortunately, during this time there could also be some problems unearthed between Oliver and Felicity.

Are these problems somehow tied to the crossover event? We wonder, mostly because of the rumors that Oliver’s child could surface once again as a story. The timing would certainly be right, given that with Oliver now running for Mayor of Star City, this is the sort of thing that would cause some political scandals for him. (This is not confirmed we should say, but it is an interesting idea to think about.)

For the time being, all executive producer Greg Berlanti would say to TVLine about the future of Oliver and Felicity is that there are problems that are going to come their way entering the second part of the season next year, and these will be issues that they have to figure out how to tackle in the right way:

“What’s been really exciting about the show this year has been dramatizing their relationship, and how that’s informed his journey and her journey … Like any relationship, there’s going to be ups and downs and surprises and pitfalls, and they have some real challenges going into the break. but that’s probably all I should say without getting in trouble with my cohorts!”

Hopefully, we’ll get some further insight on this on the new episode Wednesday night … though, given that we have a crossover this week, you should probably also watch Tuesday.
