‘Empire’ season 2, episode 9: Rosie O’Donnell on guest-starring role
“Empire” has shown quite a knack for getting big-name guest stars to appear on the show, and there is going to be no exception to the rule at all come Wednesday night! Rosie O’Donnell is set to make a high-profile appearance of her own on the show, and will be playing someone who has a history both with Cookie behind bars, and someone who could help her out in Philadelphia in the present.
So what was it like for Rosie, who is a self-described fan of the show, to do this work? Speaking to Yahoo! in a new interview, one of the first reactions that she had was just in discussion of the intimidating parts of the job:
“I’d watched the performances, and I’m stunned every week because I can’t believe the level of acting and the amount of (dialogue) and stories … I prepared for this like I’ve never prepared for anything in my career, because I didn’t want to disappoint and I understood the pace at which they work.”
We’ve made it known that for the most part, we’re not particularly thrilled with the idea of Fox casting anyone and everyone under the sun for roles on this show, mostly because there’s no real need for it. Yet, we do think that Rosie is underrated as an actress, and she recently did some really great stuff on “The Fosters” earlier this summer. Therefore, we are interested in seeing what she manages to bring to this show, as well.
