‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 10 reaction: Does Gibbs get through to Bishop in Oklahoma?

NCIS -

Going into Tuesday night’s new episode of “NCIS,” the primary long-term story was that of Bishop and the status of her marriage. While the rest of the NCIS team worked tirelessly to help a young man in need of a transplant, Bishop went back to Oklahoma to try and process what happened between her and Jake. They are facing the end of their marriage, and she has to figure out what to do about it.

We understand that there are still many out there who do not enjoy the Bishop character, but we found this story to be for the most part compelling. The parallels between the case of the week and Bishop’s marriage were clear: Changing the past versus living in the future, improving one’s life, and taken oaths. All of these connected back to what happened with her and Jake in one way or another. The good news that Bishop was able to help ensure that the transplant went through, and Gibbs showed the utmost of confidence in her after an emotional heart-to-heart.

Did we really get resolution on Bishop’s marriage? Not really, but we did get a chance to watch Gibbs peel potatoes! Also, DiNozzo got an awkward Thanksgiving invitation and Gibbs learned just how hard Bishop’s job is on her mother. She is heading back to Washington with Gibbs after the holiday ends.

In the end, we’ll say that “Blood Brothers” was a heartfelt story for the show, even if it is one that was not the most memorable in the world. Think of this as a nice precursor to the Thanksgiving holiday, especially at a time when there are not too many stories like this on the air.
