ABC’s ‘Castle’ fall finale reaction: Show bosses on new Castle, Beckett twist
What we saw at the end of Monday night’s “Castle” fall finale was mostly good news in that after much waiting, our leading man and woman are now back together once more! Castle and Beckett are a couple … but that does not mean that everyone is necessarily in on that particular bit of information just yet. They are staying apart as a means to preserve their cover, and that is much of what this show is going to be exploring in the immediate future. How can they be close in private, and yet arguing and not together in public?
Even though we’re still personally not sure how much this helps Rick stay safe (any trained killer would still assume that Beckett still cares for him to a certain extent and is therefore interested in him as a target), the producers are still clearly interested in playing this out to a certain extent. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Alexi Hawley had the following to say:
“What we love is that now that we’re twisting it so that they’re in it together but the public face of them is separate, that allows the audience to be in on the joke with them — in the sense that they can ‘fight’ in public, but the audience knows that it’s just an act. It is pretty delightful, having seen several of the episodes coming up.”
In the end, we think that this could be fun for a while, and “fun” is the adjective we most like to use when describing this show the majority of the time.
Also, it should be noted that in this interview (which also features fellow EP Terence Paul Winter), it is made clear that there are no plans for a pregnancy story anytime soon.

Not sure wiewers want the show runners winning them back. Now they backward KB and RC to Season 5 setup for next few ep. ‘Public separated, but private itimating’, not really sure they learn any lession from the fall disaster. I wonder why not viewers start sending e-mail to ABC asking kicking them out.
The story line damage s Castle almost to a point that only they believe they are on right track. Why not just conclude this story line in 2 or 3 ep. and back where Season 7 left?

Eight episodes were waisted on this stupid premise and now the fans are supposed to enjoy being part of the stipidity really? How do fans forgei the character assassination these writers did on the two leads changing them from the Dynamic Duo into the Dispisable Two the dumbing down of Martha and raising in stature of Vikram to the point where Kate blindly follows his advice

Sorry, but the whole idea of them trying to actually be together while pretending in public that they’re not will be very old after just a couple of episodes, three tops. Dumb idea for the same reason as the separation idea always was. Castle is still there so no one would buy him really being separated from Kate. Also, let’s be honest. It’s highly likely that if there isn’t a pregnancy story this season then there never will be. H&W have quite likely taken care of that.

I am happy that they are back together, but the whole story line was jumping the Shark back to Always which was totally unnecessary. H&W alienated alot of fans and we have lost trust in the writers hopefully from this point on they get back to what made this show great Caskett fighting crime together no matter what is in their way. I’m not sure if the writers will ever win our trust back ,they have left some heavy scar tissue on this fan.
