‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ results: Was Alek Skarlatos or Carolos PenaVega eliminated in fourth place?

Tonight, “Dancing with the Stars” had the challenge of narrowing down the field from four contestants to three, but we don’t think it was as cut-and-dry a decision as some of the scores may have indicated. We felt going into this that in terms of pure dancing, Alek Skarlatos was probably the weakest person remaining. Yet, he has much of America behind him, and he is the sort of underdog story that people can connect to and relate to on some level.

Maybe this is why he is still there, and Carlos PenaVega is the performer heading home in third place tonight. This was somewhat predictable when you look at the way the votes have been going so far this season. It’s not too far off from where his wife Alexa finishes, and we think that the only real way that he would have made it to the finale would’ve been if he figured out a way to get all of the votes that his wife was snagging directed onto him.

Ultimately, we don’t think that either Carlos or Alek really had that great of a chance at winning this, since to us it seems to be for the most part a battle between two contenders. Bindi Irwin and Nick Carter. Don’t be stunned if this is where the dust settles Tuesday night in the finale; maybe Alec will surprisingly get to the final 2, but it is hard to envision him winning.

We will be back tomorrow night with more news; stay tuned!
