TV Quick Hits: Matt Bomer to Amazon; U2 concert on HBO rescheduled; Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s exit

AmazonMatt Bomer lands new show – Great news for all fans of the former “White Collar” and current “American Horror Story”  star: You don’t have to wait any longer to know what his next TV project is going to be.

According to a new report coming in now from Deadline, Bomer has signed up for “Tycoon,” an adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald work “The Last Tycoon.” In this, he will play a fictionalized film mogul named Monroe Stahr who works to try to navigate and control the industry in the 1930s. This sounds to us like a promising idea, and Amazon is showing more and more that they are going all in right now with big names and original ideas.

As for what this means for Bomer’s “American Horror Story” future … well, let’s just say that it limits his free time.

U2 – HBO concert rescheduled – The band had previously set a concert event for the network entitled “U2: iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE LIVE IN PARIS” earlier this month, but it was understandably delayed following the horrific attacks in Paris. Now, the network has confirmed that this will happen on Monday, December 7 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Here is what frontman Bono said in a statement:

“So much that was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13th is irreplaceable … For one night, the killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind – but they couldn’t steal the spirit of that city. It’s a spirit our band knows well and will try to serve when we return for the postponed shows on December 6th and 7th. We’re going to put on our best for Paris.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck departs “Fox & Friends” – It looks like “Saturday Night Live” will have to sub someone new into their sketch! According to Variety, the co-host for the past few years is departing to spend more time with family.
