‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ results preview: Will Alek Skarlatos, Nick Carter, Carlos PenaVega be eliminated?

There has to be something rather gut-wrenching about going home in either fourth or third place on “Dancing with the Stars.” On either occasion, you know that you were almost at the point of winning the show, but there were just a few little things that happened that kept you from it. Either you weren’t dominant enough, you didn’t have the support from the public, or maybe your narrative just wasn’t in the right place at the right time.

Tonight, the brutality starts for one of the remaining pairs as the fourth-place finisher is revealed. We’re assuming that Bindi Irwin is safe, so let’s instead look at the other three candidates now.

Alek Skarlatos – What he has going for him for the most part is that most of the country seems to be right behind him. He’s likable, and he is that everyman who is easy to get behind and support without almost any effort. However, he’s also been consistently one of the weakest dancers, even with some recent improvement.

Carlos PenaVega – He and Witney Carson have done very well, but our feeling now is that unless they are able to get a little bit of the support from Alexa fans, they could have a little bit of trouble.

Nick Carter – While it’s crazy to think that we could have a finale Tuesday without the former Backstreet Boy still in the running, the results of the show last week make us at least a little concerned that it is possible.
