ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 9 preview: Return date for Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic series
The sound that you may be hearing inside your head is that of a celebration. Castle and Beckett are back together on “Castle“! It took a long time, but we’re now back somewhat to the original foundation of the show … or at least what the foundation has been for the past few years: A couple balancing their personal lives while solving some of the most intense crimes in New York City.
So now that the show has established a sense of normalcy, when will it be back with more episodes? While we were originally hearing that the return date would be on January 4, the promo below suggests that it is instead February 1. Maybe there was a last-minute change, but it certainly is confusing for the show to go from having a lengthy hiatus to not having one to apparently having one again.
As for whether or not the LokSat case will be integral in the first episode back, it’s too early to tell. With that said, the show is obviously going to be exploring it further, and trying to figure out if there is something that can be done to resolve this case. We also know that Rick’s disappearance will come up again as a subject, and we imagine that there will be a few fun cases here and there along the way.
Of course, the biggest piece of advice we can give you is just to keep checking back in December and throughout the holiday season. We’re saddened by the longer wait, but at least we’re leaving on a high note.

Longer or shorter winter hiatus is probably no longer relavent anymore. The LokSat story line needs to be concluded ASAP, or more and more viewers will switch to other shows.
It looks like the new show runners are still in ‘self-deny’ mode.

agree, the Locsat story, Vikriam, Hayley, the “fake” break up , super spy Alexis , “broken” I blew up my marriage Kate Beckett , Imbecile frat boy buffoon Rick Castle, and the crappy “15 yr old boy” writing of S8, needs to all end immediately. All 808 did was not burn the last bridge between the remaining long suffering fans & the show. Still needs to get back on track and deliver. That still remains to be seen.

Question. Does anybody know what is happening with the always bracelet? It means something in their relationship. I am hoping for a better storyline following the hiatus.

The episode dotted all the I’s and crossed most of the T’s it had to to get people back from the Winter hiatus, but it didn’t make anyone hungry for the next episode. Anyone smart would have done something like this in episode 4, no later.

if the people making Castle have any common sense left at all(and based on what various people have commented, this is very debatable) this show better be back by January 4th. Making people wait over 2 months(until February 1st) for new episodes is more ridiculous than what NBC is doing with SVU(making us wait 7 weeks.) if this was the top show in the 10 pm Monday slot, that would be one thing. CASTLE is being PUMELLED by Blindspot. Starting New Episodes BEFORE Blindspot starts up again would be the right idea. Trying to win fans who are now watching Blindspot is the idea. I know all about DVRing and people watching things OnDemand, but ABC isn’t going to want to bring this show back if it’s doing less than a 1.3 That is my opinion, but We’re also talking about ABC, not NBC. I don’t know what Castle is averaging this season, but from what I have read it isn’t doing well.

If I recall, it’s about 1.1…which is very poor. You know things are bad when the showrunners start quoting numbers based upon people DVR’ing the program. The advertisers could care less about DVRs because NO ONE WATCHES COMMERCIALS FROM THE DVR. The daily numbers are the thing, and you’re right…numbers less than 1.2 (I think) are in very serious trouble.

Looking into it. All the material I’d seen before the promo tonight said January 4. Assuming the promo is right and it’s a last-minute switch to February.
