Will ‘Jessica Jones’ season 2 happen? That’s one of many mysteries with Marvel – Netflix pact
What makes talking about the future of these Marvel shows a little more complicated is the sole fact that their future is really so much different than anything else out there. What we mean by this is that there is potentially a show coming eventually in “The Defenders” that will feature all of the different Marvel – Netflix characters in some shape or form … but there does not seem to be much in the way of a hurry to get to that.
As a matter of fact, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg tells The Hollywood Reporter that “Daredevil,” the first in this series of shows, was not even really on her mind too much while making this series starring Krysten Ritter:
“It feels like they’re following the storytelling as opposed to imposing the storytelling on the storytellers. There’s been no conversations about The Defenders. I think I’d read one script of Daredevil before I started the writing room up. There’s just no crossover at all.”
Our guess is that “The Defenders” will come after all of the Netflix – Marvel shows are out, which means that it will probably be 2017 before things actually start to seriously get going on ideas. “Luke Cage” is coming in 2016, and following that there is still “Iron Fist.”
