‘How to Get Away with Murder’ winter finale: Show creator on Wes – Annalise – ‘Christoph’ shocker

Who is Christoph on “How to Get Away with Murder“? The simple answer to that is that he is Wes. It’s the name that he went by as a child, back when his mother was still alive. The fact that Annalise knows that name is something that changes almost everything when it comes to their relationship.

After Wes shot her in the winter finale, a move originally meant to be by request before turning into something more sinister following Viola Davis’ character revealing that Rebecca was dead and had been the whole time, Christoph is the name she uttered to save her life. So where does this relationship go from here? Is there any salvaging it? It’s something that creator Pete Nowalk discussed in a winter finale postmortem to TVLine:

“Wes’ whole life and everything he knew has changed with Annalise whispering ‘Christoph’ to him. He now has to question everything. She’s obviously going to be in the hospital. Does he want to talk to her? Will she want to see him? There’s a huge mountain the two of them have to climb if they’re ever going to recover from this.”

Who killed Wes’ mom, and did Annalise or Even cover it up? These are all questions we are meant to wonder until the show returns on February 11.

Meanwhile, Nowalk also mentioned that there were some flash-forwards that we have already seen that were intentionally left out of the finale, with the big statement from Asher to the police being one of them. Yep, you’ve still got to wait for answers there.
