‘Scream Queens’ finale spoilers: When will the Red Devil reveal take place?

There is one thing that we should say in this “Scream Queens” article before anything else, mostly because we feel like this is something that surprised a good many people out there, us included: Apparently, at some point the show’s episode count was reduced. It was originally set to be 15 episodes, but in the end only 13 were made. You can blame this on whatever you want, but we’re actually glad it is working out this way. It eliminates the need for a winter hiatus, since if you did have so many installments you would have to air a two-hour finale on December 22 … which is probably not something Fox wanted to do given that so many people have other stuff going on.

Now that we’ve gone over all of that, let’s go ahead and share the official synopsis from what is being billed as the actual finale for the show airing on Tuesday, December 8:

“Shocking confessions are made as the Red Devil is finally unmasked and the killer revealed.”

We suppose that there are still several different possible candidates out there for the Red Devil, but for the time being we’re putting Hester at the top of the list without much competition. We for whatever reason just have a really hard time buying that she is actually dead, mostly given this genre’s history and the fact that Lea Michele is one of the biggest names on the show. We’ll just have to wait and see if this ends up being reality.
