‘The X Factor’ UK notes: Discussing Louisa Johnson, Lauren Murray comments, reaction

One of our favorite things to do when writing about “The X Factor” is sort of commenting on the commentary, and some of the ways in which the media try to make mountains out of molehills for some of the contestants and their stories leading up to the show.

We begin this time around with Louisa Johnson, someone pegged by many at the moment as a potential favorite to win the show. Speaking to 3am, the singer revealed that she has received a direct message from none other than Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, and that she’s also met Niall Horan backstage. Basically, in another piece the Mirror is acting almost like there is a competition forming between these two guys, both in their twenties, for a 17-year old girl. A little creepy. We think that they were just being nice and supportive of someone who could be a star, and we agree with that assertion. Louisa has some of the qualities needed.

Meanwhile, you’ve also got the following comments that Lauren Murray made to the Mirror, which are somehow being interpreted as her slamming the series:

“I found the filming the hardest to deal with … The camera is there when you wake up, it’s there when you go to sleep. I felt like I could never relax. It’s intense.”

We feel like the show is one of those things were the benefits outweigh the negatives. It’s a great outlet and a chance to build your brand, but in the process, you do have to prepare to handle some rather unwanted things. Having little time to yourself is one of them.
