‘Saturday Night Live’: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Gosling hosting in December

SNL -Awesome. That is how we would describe the hosting lineup coming for “Saturday Night Live” the rest of the year. You’ve got a chance to see this weekend Matthew McConaughey, and following that there are two other big-screen actors before quite possibly the most exciting news of all: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returning together for the Christmas episode on December 19.

The full list of hosts and musical guests was confirmed by the show’s Twitter page: Ryan Gosling has the gig on December 5 alongside Leon Bridges, while Chris Hemsworth is returning December 12 with Chance the Rapper. As if getting Fey and Poehler was not exciting enough, the legendary Bruce Springsteen is also serving as the musical guest.

Holiday episodes of the show are generally hosted by alumni, which it was somewhat odd last year to not have that (even if the Amy Adams show was pretty good). We envision that we are going to get a chance to see potentially some other cameos thrown in here, but more than anything just a lot of fun. It’d be at least humorous to see Amy’s impersonation of Hillary Clinton at some point alongside the one from Kate McKinnon.

Ultimately, we don’t know how you can look at this particular list as an “SNL” fan and not be excited. You’ve got accomplished performers across the board, and Hemsworth was somewhat underrated his last time on the show. We didn’t think his episode was necessarily wonderful, but he did a very good job with the material he had.
