‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 9 video: Benson pressed on interrogation procedure

Law & Order: SVU logoIf you’ve seen some of the commercials already for Wednesday night’s new episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” then you may be familiar already with just what sort of case we’re dealing with coming up. This is an emotional one for Benson, since it touches back on the Lewis Hodda case, one that haunted her for many years and one that she is looking further to put in the rear-view mirror.

However, could something so simple as a failure to follow proper procedure doom her? In the sneak peek below, you are certainly given reason to pause after Mariska Hargitay’s character is taken to task for having Hodda (played once more by Tom Sizemore) in interrogation for six hours before turning on the camera. In that time, it is theoretically possible that she could have used, at least in the court’s eyes, any sort of tactic to convince him to make a confession. There is video evidence of him doing that, but will that be enough?

In addition to Benson being challenged in the courtroom in this episode, be prepared to also see some intense scenes featuring former cast member B.D. Wong, who will have some surprising scenes over the course of this episode. For those who enjoy “SVU” when it focuses a little bit more on the “order” side of things (as in order in the courtroom), this episode may be up your alley.

We’ll have some further news following it coming on the air, as we imagine one way or another, this still could be a case Benson ends up revisiting down the line.
