ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 8 (fall finale) preview: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion in ‘Mr. & Mrs. Castle’
Next week on ABC, it’s finally here: The “Castle” fall finale! This is more than just the last episode of the show, though: It’s also the one in “Mr. & Mrs. Castle” that we know so many fans have been waiting for. The showrunners have hyped this one up as a story to be excited about, and while we cannot guarantee one way or another that Castle and Beckett are getting back together during it, we’re certainly feeling hopeful that there will be at least some forward progress beyond a night together.
We know that the synopsis below is rather short, but it does do a good job of making it clear precisely how Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters could be in a situation to start to talk about their feelings again:
“Castle and Beckett investigate the murder of a cruise ship entertainer, only to find themselves trapped at sea with the killer.”
As for the promo below, it doesn’t really focus too much on anything other than the case itself, but it seems at least on paper like this is going to be an action-packed, different sort of episode than we are used to see. You’re forcing Castle and Beckett to work together in a confined space for one, but we clearly know after tonight that all of the feelings are very much there. We just have to wait now for them to manifest themselves in a big way one more.
We’ll have more updates on this episode throughout the week. Stay tuned!

Castle and kate definitely work better together, no denying that, for that’s when they are stronger, but I believe that it is high time since castle is a P.I to have him use is fists as his brain to take up a notch. Maybe, a secret training along with daughter with that new black girl with the british accent, for as the last episode let it to believe, things are going to get bumpy, so it would not that be bad to have castle/alexis to know how to handle a gun and have some new cool karate moves. We, the fans wants to C castle goes to the next level in taking mesures to go through that fire for kate and maybe his fater and step mother can help in the secret training? We already know castle/alexis are smart, so let C what else they can do. About that?

I think that episode 7 is the first time to see some crack in the armor of “the obstacle”. I understand that the show runners are going to move everything much further down the road in episode 8. If so we should see more development in the break through of “the obstacle” (the obstacle being Beckett’s determination to protect Castle while she catches Bracken’s partner). I would like to see Beckett tell Castle why she wants separation at this time and until she catches Bracken’s partner. A lot needs to be done in episode 8 to appease the fans because after episode 8 there will be about 10 weeks of no new Castle episodes and two episodes (Tone Deaf and Witness for the Prosecution) that sound like a good time to catch up on your sleep. I would hope that episodes 8 & 9 would get totally through with the obstacle business but since the obstacle is supposed to strengthen the Caskett marriage I think they will drag it out until the end of the season and use a lot of filler episodes like 8 & 9 to do it.

Buddy ,I agree with most of your comment ,but I think they will /hope they get together by episode 11,12 when they start to tie Castle’s disappearance with the Loksat story line as Hawley our liar has stated earlier. But we shall see I think they need to tie it together quickly if they want another season it seems ABC does by cutting back on the long hiatus.

Even with the writers and show runners trying as hard as they can to emphasize Ryan and Espo, Beckett and Castle are still far and away the best thing about the show. Fillion working one on one with Katic are still the best thing on any size screen. No one touches what they do together. They just stole the Fall television season.

I agree that this episode was the best so far this season in an otherwise horrible year. This episode was full of casket goodness, good case, and superb acting. However, it will take much more to convince me that this horrible arc is coming to a close. Bottom line though a small step has been taken and I hope to move forward.

I just hope if they are going to get back together the writers don’t drag it out through the whole season. That wouldn’t be fair to the fans. The show is so much better when they are together.

And yet tonight’s episode still showed that Beckett puts the chase first.

You are right gym, but this episode shows a large crack in the Beckett resolve. It also implies a breakthrough for castle in that it seems he has a idea now of where to go to find out what Beckett’s issues are. I hope that in further episodes Beckett and Castle seek counseling so that both their issues and unresolved problems are bright out to be open and taking care of. As castle said in his proposal in season six, paraphrasing, “whatever issues there may be, they can work them out so long as they work them out together.”

Ira, I agree but as you see Hawley still wants to drag this out even he basically stated that with what he wants the second half of the season to be. It is going to be painful for fans.

I hope you are wrong Charles, but given the “build up” I think you may be right. Here is “hoping for the best, (quick end to the ‘time out’) but expecting the worst (arc being drawn out).”

Ira, I am doing the same hoping it ends soner rather that that late into the season so they can work together to get Loksat.
