‘Blue Bloods’ season 6, episode 9 video: Could Frank step down as Commissioner?

Blue Bloods season 6The entirety of “Blue Bloods” has been the Frank Reagan era at the NYPD, but could we be nearing the point now where he considers another option? The promo below raises that question.

If Frank was to step down / retire rather than re-up at the position, could anyone blame him? Just this past episode, he walked into a room of college students and was immediately booed to the point where he had to leave. He did not even say a word, but there was nothing that he could to make those people believe that he was someone with good intentions at heart. Police paranoia and disinterest is at a high right now, and this is something that is reflected on the series almost perfectly. It’s heartbreaking for the good guys, but we also understand the reason for the distrust.

By the time we reach the end of this episode, we imagine that we’re going to get some sort of answer … but who honestly thinks that Frank is going to go through with resigning? We don’t have any idea what the show would be like without him in charge. As much as he does at times get booed and jeered for his work, we’ve never really thought that Tom Selleck’s character was in this for the glory in the first place. Instead, he is in it to try to be the best police officer that he can possible by despite whatever circumstances may befall him.

We’ll have more on this episode later in the week; stay tuned!
